Playground

This 11,700 Sq. Ft. playground was community funded by local residents, businesses, and organizations. It was also community built by volunteers in 5 days in June 2019 under the direction of Playgrounds by Leathers and Associates. It is fully fenced in with a single entrance that features two distinct play areas for older and younger children. Parents will love the shaded areas, shaded seating area, and plenty of benches. Kids will enjoy 4 slides, swings, a climbing net, bird lookout tower, and so many play elements. This is one amazing playground!!

3/4 Mile Walking Trail

NWCP has a beautiful natural setting and this 3/4 miles mulched walking trail allows you to enjoy it. A walk will give the opportunity to bird watch and observe flowers in bloom. There are trash cans and doggy bag dispensers along the path for you to help us keep the natural setting clean and beautiful.

18-Hole Disc Golf Course

Our 18-Hole course was designed by the Hendricks County Disc Golf Club. The course provides fun for the newbies and challenges for the seasoned disc golfer. Unique for the area, our course features water obstacles, interesting challenges, and some elevation. Nestled into the natural setting of the park, our course will not only provide a fun game, but a relaxing walk in nature.

Fishing Pond

The perfect place to relax is fishing our 3 acre catch and release fishing pond. It’s not uncommon to see families picnicking on the banks of the pond while fishing or to see a grandpa teaching the grandkids how to fish. You may just enjoy sitting on a waterside bench to enjoy a beautiful sunset.

No. The pond is on private property and you do not need a license to fish in it. There is a "Catch and Release" policy to guarantee a fun experience for all.

Who built Northwest Community Park?

Northwest Community Park is the joint effort of several community partnerships. The land is owned by Parkside Bible Church and a lot of the work has been done by the people of Parkside. However, it could not have happened without key community partners like the Hendricks County Disc Golf Club, Lowe’s, Mainscape, Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, Brown Township Trustee, and so many more.

Is Northwest Community Park a part of the Brownsburg Parks Department?

No, Northwest Community Park property sits just outside of town limits. However, Brownsburg Parks Department has been very friendly in assisting with the development of the park. Through this friendship, Northwest Community Park has received advice in its development and strategic planning. This also allows Northside residents to have ready access to a park all while allowing Brownsburg Parks Department to focus on other projects.

Are dogs allowed in the park?

Yes, Northwest Community Park is dog-friendly. We ask that they remain on a leash at all times and that you pick up after them. Bag dispensers are located throughout the park. Dogs are not allowed inside the playground.
